how we work

Clarity is not a bonus. It’s how we work.

How we work

Our process

From the first call to the last dance. Every wedding we plan follows a clear process so you always know where you are, what comes next, and what we need from you.

01
Initial step

First Contact & Discovery Call

You reach out through our website, social media, or through a referral. We respond within 2 business days to arrange a more personal first point of contact: the Discovery Call.

This first conversation is designed to understand your vision for the celebration. Over the course of 40 minutes, we explore the essential details of your event, including your preferred date, guest count, possible additional events, food and beverage requirements, and any cultural or religious considerations.

There is no commitment — simply an open and welcoming space to ask every question you may have about what planning a destination wedding in Portugal involves.

It is also an opportunity for Como Branco to explain our services, our way of working, and the scope of what we can support you with.

02
Proposal

Service Proposal

Based on the information collected during the Discovery Call, Como Branco prepares a tailored flat-fee service proposal aligned with your event profile and planning needs.

You can then review the proposal and send any follow-up questions by email, WhatsApp, or through an additional call.

03
Kick-off

Contract & Kick-Off

Once you are ready to move forward, we sign the paperwork and confirm the booking of our services with the first instalment.

From that moment on, you will have a dedicated team by your side, together with a shared workspace where your full project can be followed in one place.

Questions we hear most often

Yes, most of our couples do. We plan destination weddings for international couples as a rule, not an exception. The entire process is designed to work remotely: shared documents, video calls, and clear communication at every stage. You only need to be in Portugal when you want to be: for venue visits, tastings, and trials, which we coordinate around your availability.

Everything runs over email, WhatsApp, and Google Meet. From day one, you have access to your Wedding Summary — a shared document with the full project: timeline, supplier payments, deadlines, guest list, seating plan, menus, and all shared files. You always know exactly where things stand. We reach out when there’s a decision to make or an update to share, not on a fixed schedule, but whenever something moves.

Both. The first conversations happen over video calls. Venue visits, tastings, hair and makeup trials, and the final alignment meeting are in person and we coordinate all of these around your trips to Portugal. Most couples visit one or two times during the planning process.

We don’t work on a fixed call schedule. We reach out when there’s something to decide, something to update, or something that needs your input. In practice, some periods are more active than others: venue search, supplier introductions, and the final weeks before the wedding involve more back and forth. You’re never left wondering where things stand, your Wedding Summary is always up to date.

We work around your availability. Calls are scheduled in advance, emails are clear and actionable, and we never send you something that requires an immediate response unless it genuinely does. We’ve worked with couples across many time zones, it’s part of how we operate.

Yes. Once we have had our first call, you’ve received and reviewed the proposal, and you’re ready to move forward, we sign a contract and process the first payment. Only then do we begin working together. Everything is clear before anything starts.

Yes. Every wedding has an average of four people: two from the planning team and two from the design team. For larger or more complex events, we bring in additional hands. Every member of the team is fully briefed, everyone knows exactly where they need to be and when.

An average of four: two planners and two from the design team. The exact number depends on the scale and complexity of your event. For multi-day wedding weekends or larger productions, the team grows accordingly.
